Welcome to West High School!

I feel honored to serve as principal at Merrill F. West High School. I am currently in my 7th school year at West High. I served 4 years as an Assistant Principal, and I am now serving in my 3rd year as Principal. Before working at West High School I taught high school English and also worked in the shipping/receiving and warehousing industry.

TUSD will be distributing free lunch and breakfast to all students between the ages of
2-18 years old during summer from
June 1 through July 2.

Please return all TUSD textbooks ASAP so that we can prepare them for the 2020-21 school year. All non-consumable textbooks are due in the school library by May 22. Books not returned on time will be overdue and charged a $5 fine. High school libraries will close for the summer on May 29; after that date, overdue books must be returned to the Instructional Media Center at 1975 West Lowell.

Overdue fines may result in being blocked from Aeries access 14 days after the overdue notice is sent to the student. 


In accordance with Education Code Section 56205(b)(2), as part of San Joaquin County's Special Education Local Plan development requirements, the following agenda item will be brought to the SELPA Governance Council for approval on June 1, 2020, 9:00 a.m., at the San Joaquin County Office of Education, 2922 Transworld Drive, Stockton, California.

Students participating in Extended School Year (ESY) through Special Education or families who have a high school student who has submitted an application for summer school credit recovery:

ESY for grades PreK – 8 will occur June 1 – June 26.  

Tracy Young Adult Program (TYAP) will also occur June 1 – July 2 

ESY and Credit Recovery for grades 9-12 will take place June 1 – July 2.  . 

A letter will be sent home the week of May 25 to families providing further information.

If your child will no longer be participating in Extended School Year, please contact the Special Education office at 830-3270. 

If your child will no longer be participating in summer school credit recovery, please contact your student’s counselor.

To register your student, please use our Aeries Online Enrollment Form found at or visit our website  at:  and navigate to Aeries Online Enrollment.

Allow 20-30 minutes to complete the Aeries Online Enrollment process.

The goal of our Tracy Unified School District community helpline is to connect our students, families and staff to a live operator between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm.  Our live operators will serve as a resource for individuals who may be in need of a school counselor, a school nurse, or mental health, foster and/or homeless information and resources.  Our school counselors, health service nurses, and prevention services support providers will operate the Tracy Unified School District helpline.  As a caller, you can choose the department of your choice by following the prompts addressed in the pre-recorded message. As a reminder, if you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency please dial 911. For specific school or classroom related information, please contact your school site teacher and/or administrator by email. For all other questions, please contact the TUSD student services department at (209) 830-3280.
